GUIDELINES FOR NATIONAL CONVENTION ON QUALITY CONCEPTS (NCQC) 2017, MYSURU

QCFI is organizing its 31st National Convention on Quality Concepts from 1 to 4  Dec’17 at JSS Science & Technology University, SJCE Campus, Manasagangothri, Mysuru, in association with QCFI Mysuru Chapter and JSS Science & Technology University. Theme of the convention is “Quality Concepts- Creating value to the society”. Above1500 case Studies/improvement projects selected from chapter conventions on various Quality Concepts will be presented in 70 parallel sessions in the convention. Around 10,000 Delegates and guests are expected to attend from all over India from more than 500 member organizations of QCFI.

This year we have many changes in the system of registration, slot allotment, Knowledge test, food timings and evaluation criteria for different Quality Concepts. You are requested to go through the changes and act accordingly.

Selection of Case Study: All the case studies which are presented in CCQC-17 and recommended by the respective Chapter/sub chapter/Centre will be allowed in NCQC-17 for presentation.

Registration of the Circles: After receiving the recommendation letter from chapter for NCQC’ 2017, Participants are requested to follow the following steps for online registration.

i) Login to website qcfi.in using your membership login credentials for registration to participate in NCQC 2017. Fill the details of Circles, upload the case study in PDF format (max. 10 MB) before 15th  Oct 2017.  If you are not able to upload the case study file, you may send through email to ncqc@qcfi.in along with your organization and circle details as mentioned in online registration. Coupons may be collected from 2 PM to 5 PM on 30 Nov’17 and 8.30 AM to 10 AM on 1 Dec’17. Only one person from the team will come along with the registration slip and proper ID proof to collect the coupons for the team.

ii) You may make the payment through online net banking. Those who are not able to make the payment through online net banking; they can fill all the payment reference details and send the demand draft or RTGS/NEFT details to QCFI HQ.

iii) Those who are interested to participate in Quiz, Skit Competition, Model exhibition, Presentation of Home Kaizen/ 5S can register through online by clicking on the option given in online. There is no additional fee for these competitions and the maximum slots allotted are only 100 for Model and 100 for quiz and 20 for Home Kaizen/5-S. This is on first come first serve basis for registered delegates/circles.

iv) This year we are introducing Kaizen presentation through model/charts at Model Exhibition stalls. Even one delegate may also take part per Kaizen.

v) Knowledge test is compulsory for all teams and it carries 50 marks. There is no test for the Kaizen to be presented in Model exhibition.

vi) No need to carry your QC record/register as this is included in CCQC evaluation criteria.

vii) 10th Nov 2017 is the last date for registration with normal fee and with late fee upto 20 Nov 2017.

There will be no registration after 20 Nov 2017 and there is No Spot registration.

Case study pre evaluation: Pre evaluation of the case studies will be done in QCFI HQ by a panel of judges. This carries 100 marks. Kindly upload Soft Copy of case study in PDF format for pre-evaluation on or before 15 Oct’ 2017. If you are not able to upload, you may send the same through e mail to ncqc@qcfi.in.

Oral presentation: Power Point Presentation may be uploaded through online, if not able to upload, you may send through email to ncqc@qcfi.in on or before 15 Oct 2017.

Note: In case of case study not received before the last date, 10% of the total marks will be deducted from the marks obtained. No case study and PPT will be accepted after 31 Oct 2017.

Slogan/Poster/Poem/Essay Competition: We are inviting the slogan/poster/poem on 5-S. Individual member of the circle, individual associate and life member of QCFI, may send their all the entries through email in PDF format to ncqc.comp@qcfi.in. Posters can also be scanned and sent through email . Essay will be only on the theme of the convention in Hindi/Englishin maximum 400 words. Last date to receive is 15 Oct 2017. Results will be declared through our website. Winners will get certificate and those who are participating in NCQC’17 as delegate will also get memento on 3 Dec’17. Time and place will be communicated well in advance.

Plant Sapling: Facilitator/Team Leader from Teams which have Pre registered and opted for plant sapling has to collect display boards from registration Counter. First 300 teams are allowed on first cum first served basis.

Skit competition: The theme of the skit to be related to Quality Concepts. Interested groups are requested to send their skit write-up through email on or before 15 Oct 2017. Selected 6 skits will be allowed to present on 3rd Dec’17 tentatively from 12.30 PM. Time for each skit will be max.10 minutes. Those who are participating in skit competition shall opt for oral case study presentation on 02.12.2017 only.

Quiz Contest: Teams who are interested to participate in Quiz competition may register their circle through online at the time of slot allotment/booking. This could be done after payment received by QCFI for the registration on first cum first serve basis. First 100 circles will be allowed. There will be 20 waiting lists also, so that in case of absenteeism of the circles already nominated, wait listed circles may be allowed. Best 20 teams will be selected. Out of these top 10 will be allowed to participate in final live quiz.  Only three members from each selected team will be allowed for live quiz on 3 Dec’17 at 2 PM in main Pandal.   Remaining 10 teams will be given consolation prize in stage 2 from 11.30 AM

Model Exhibition: Those circles who are bringing their model for display during the case study presentation will be allowed to present their model in one slot of three hours duration on 1 Dec 2017 from 8.30 AM to 11.30 AM or on 2nd Dec’17 from 8.30 AM to 11.30 AM or from 1.30 PM to 4.30PM. Teams who are interested to participate in Model competition may register their circle through online at the time of slot allotment/booking. This could be done after payment received by QCFI for the registration on first cum first serve basis. First 100 circles will be allowed. Best 25 selected circles in model exhibition will be awarded on 3 Dec’17.

Kaizen Competition: This year we are introducing Kaizen competition mainly to bring out creative talent of individual at all levels. Even one person can present the Kaizen through model/chart/clippings etc., in the allotted slot for presentation in Model exhibition area. This will be evaluated by panel of judges and marks will be given out of 50. They have to send the Kaizen implemented by them along with benefits of the Kaizen certified by the management through email ncqc.comp@qcfi.in for pre-evaluation (50 Marks) on or before 15 Oct 2017. They will be awarded based on the total marks in valedictory session.

Home Kaizen/5-S: Those who are participating in NCQC’17 as delegate will get a chance to present their creative ideas implemented at Home under Kaizen/5-S. They have to send the brief description of the activity carried out with photographs/photographs of the model to be presented through email ncqc.comp@qcfi.in on or before 15th Oct 2017. 20 Home Kaizen/5-S will be selected for the presentation in Model Exhibition on 1st Dec’17. Spouse of the delegate participating will be allowed with free food coupons. Best 10 home kaizen/5-S will be awarded.

Technical Exhibition and products display stalls: After seeing the immense response of this in NCQC’16 and based on the recommendations received from the delegates, we are going to allow 50+ such stalls as these are upgrading the knowledge of our delegates and helping the exhibitors for the propagation of their products and services to the convention delegates which includes professionals and technocrats from all over India.             

All the delegates are requested to come with their visiting cards and visit the stalls of their interest. Based on the collection of visiting cards by the stalls, there will be lucky draw on 3 Dec’17. Interested organisations may contact us for the stall booking on nominal charges. Lucky winners names will be displayed at registration counter at 2:30 pm on 3rd December 2017 and surprise gift will be given from registration counter after showing valid proof.

Food Coupons: To avoid the long Queue for lunch, we are introducing three time-slots On 2nd Dec’17 which will be given after blocking the slots for presentation. Food slot timings will be the same to all the team members of respective circles. Accordingly, coupons will be issued to the circles.  

Collection of coupons for kitbag/gift/food: Once the online registration is completed, they can print the “Registration Slip which is with QR code”. One of the members of the team/facilitator may come in selected slot time for collection of coupons for their respective circle, which will be issued on 30th Nov’17 from 2 PM to 5 PM and on  1st Dec 2017 from 8.30 AM.

  2. Knowledge test – One slip for three members participating in KT

Additional Food Coupons:

In case, if any participant is coming with spouse/family members,  may take the coupons for food and snacks for all the three days by paying Rs. 1200/- per head as a package or Rs 500/- per person for a day.

Only vegetarian food will be served since the management of JSS Science and Technology University Mysuru, has permitted to serve vegetarian catering.  

Industrial Visit: Industrial visit has been organised on 4th Dec’17. This is a unique opportunity to see the reputed and world class companies excellent performing industries in and around Mysuru viz., M/s. JK tyres & Industries Ltd, M/s. TVS Motor Company, M/s. Plansee India HPM Pvt Ltd., M/s. AT & S India Pvt. Ltd, M/s. N. Rangarao & Sons Pvt Ltd., M/s. Automotive Axles Ltd., & M/s. Toyota Motor Corporation Ltd., (Bengaluru). This is limited to  250 delegates on first cum first serve basis. Spot registration is allowed subject to availability of seats on 2nd Dec 2017 from 11.00 AM to 1.00 PM at registration counter.  Boarding passes may be collected on 3rd Dec’17 from registration counter from 10 AM to 3 PM.

Certificates and mementos: Just after the declaration of the result of your circle, you may get the certificate after giving the slip –2 and showing the ID card by a person whose name is mentioned in the slip. Now group will go for receiving the memento and group photograph on the dais with dummy memento. Circle can take the memento from the registration counter by showing the certificate. After putting the stamp behind the certificate.  

Individual participation certificate for members will be emailed to the registered email id.  

Special Incentive: QCFI is pleased to offer @ 10 against every Rs. 100/-  of paid fees for NCQC-2017 (excluding GST) by the organization in the form of points to be redeemed against nominations for Workshops being organized by QCFI Headquarters and also against purchase of QCFI Publications on or before 31st October, 2018.
